World Blitz Championship (Women) (2016)

The 2016 FIDE Women's World Blitz Championship was a 17-round Swiss open taking place in the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena in Doha, Qatar from 29-30 December. The prize fund was $40,000, with $10,000 at stake for 1st place. The time control was 3 minutes per player for all moves, with a 2-second increment per move from move 1. No playoffs to be held if players ended on the same number of points, with monetary prizes shared equally. (1)
