The 22nd European Chess Club Cup for Women was a 7-round Swiss System team tournament, held in Avantgarde Hotel, Göynük, Turkey. NONA Batumi (Georgia) were the top seeds, and recovered from an early loss in round 2 to score 11/14 and win the Cup on tie-breaks.

The European Club Cup 2016

(From left to right) Midland Monarchs team: <WFM Maria Manelidou>, WGM Srebrnic Ana, WGM Sandu Mihaela and Serbanescu Diana-Maria, with GM Hou Yifan the leader of the Cercle d'Echecs Monte Carlo team (the tournament winner).

Maria Manelidou is a Women FIDE Master born in Georgia, raised in Greece and currently based in London. In recent years she has focused more on teaching chess than on pursuing her tournament career. She found Chess Rising Stars London Academy.
