Biel Master Open (2019)

The Biel Master Open tournament of the 52nd Biel International Chess Festival was played from 22-31 July 2019 in Biel, Switzerland. Among the participants were 34 GM's and 22 IM's. Average rating: 2287. Time controls: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, and 30 more minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. Tournament director: Paul Kohler. Chief arbiter: Jonas Studer. The young Iranian M Amin Tabatabaei won with 7/9, ahead of 10 players with 6.5/9. The talents Anand Pranav and Jianwen Wong scored 5/9 and took IM norms.
