Ruslan Ponomariov was the youngest world champion in the history of chess. I believe that he has the talent to get to the number one spot on the rating list, if he would put the effort that he used to into playing. He is an amazing positional player, possibly the best in the world at the endgame, and also has amazing tactical vision. When he is trying to win, he almost always succeeds.
