|Historical Tournaments 3: To be Updated|
Compiled by Phony Benoni
<chessgames.com> is creating Historical Tournament pages based on tournament collections assembled by kibitzers. These will help to string together the history of the game and provide space for kibitzing about these events.|
A group of Game/Biography Editors has been empowered to determine which collections can be made into Historical Tournament pages, and to make useful updates to games (round numbers, dates and years) which will aid in the process by allowing the games to be properly arranged. The results of these efforts can be seen here: Tournament Index. Thus far, the Games Editors have updated over 425 tournaments, totalling nearly 33,000 games.
This is one of four collections designed to help track progress of this work and make suggestions for future updates.
Game Collection: Historical Tournaments 1: Updated, but need work will list historical tournament pages which still require some information to be added, such as round dates or missing games.
Game Collection: Historical Tournaments 2: The Waiting List will list collections that can become tournament pages once missing games are added to the database, or other suggested corrections have been made. Collections missing games should not be nominated if there is any reasonable chance of finding the games, as they will be difficult to add to the tournament page later.
Game Collection: Historical Tournaments 3: To be Updated is a list of collections based on important tournaments which still need sustantial work. Normally, this will mean round/date information needs to be added, or missing games need to be submitted to the database.
Game Collection: Historical Tournaments 4: To be Collected is a list of important tournaments which have not yet been collected, or for which only minimal work has been done.
If you have suggestions or any information to help in the completion of this project, please leave a note in the Biographer Bistro or my forum.
