Compiled by fredthebear

Back by popular demand! There are some fabulous combinations in here too. Among others, Schlechter, Blackburne and Euwe light 'em up!

Decoy: A tactical method which is used to force a piece of the opponent to move TO an unfavorable square. Once occupying this square, this piece will soon be lost or it disturbs the coordination of other pieces so that one of those will be conquered.

Deflection: A tactical method used to distract a piece of the opponent away FROM the defense of an important square, file or the protection of another piece.
