Feb-14-18  Luke Warm: Hi,
Happy V-Day.

I liked the John Mellencamp documentary on Netflix, where he has serious things to say about life, art and industry over a filmed concert.

Killing it like John Cougar Mellencamp 83 to 89: Uh Huh, Scarecrow, The Lonesome Jubilee, Big Daddy.

I have a cultural memory of him hitting dingers with each successive single, it was exciting.

He is a serious person.

HeMateMe: luke, we're going to beat you in hockey this Olympics.

HeMateMe: tonight is it! 10:00pm EST, Canada vs the USA, ice hockey. This is just pool play though, not the gold medal game. Canada has won the last four (4!) Olympic gold medals, but the USA women have won the last four world championships.
Feb-14-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: No, Mimi. I don't watch the Olympics unless it's in London and it's the 100m finals. Anyways Liam Gallagher gets his "Godlike genius" award tonight from the NME. Best Frontman ever from 94-97 so it's deserved. He follows people like Marr, Weller and Noel Gallagher.

HeMateMe: well, the winter Olympics generally doesn't have the punch that the summer games does. The men's hockey tournament is diluted because the NHL pros were not allowed to play this year, thus a great gold medal game between the USA and Canada won't happen.

England has men's and women's curling teams in korea, I think that's the only place they can medal.

What about field hockey or lacrosse? do they have that in college in England?

He was the best frontman ever for three years. Tough.

  HeMateMe: best frontmen/women ever:

1. The young Elvis, 1950s. Even the Beatles and stones would admit this. He completely changed the music business.

2. Michael Jackson. The first truly global superstar, dominating the internet and all forms of media.

3. James Brown. A force of nature.

4. Mick Jagger. Truly one of the hardest working men in show biz.

5. Janis Joplin. A powerhouse, the room became hers. Gone way too soon.

What about guys who just stand there or just sit at a piano? Noel Gallagher, Elton John, Bowie, Billy Joel, Coldplay? Talented people who rely more on the music than physicality to make a connection with the audience.

Best Frontman Ever: April 22 1993 to May 3 1993

Feb-14-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: Mimi.. 4 out of 5 of your 'Best Frontman evers" are either singers or females. Not under any circumstances should Elvis, Wacko, Brown or Joplin be classed as <Frontmen!>. Not even John Lennon could be classed as a Frontman and he's basically God!

Paul McCartney (my age in this video!) Pipes of peace

Even though I look younger than him (real talk) he's a little bit better looking than me, lol.

Truly one of McCartney's masterpieces. The intro/hook/verse/chorus is sooooooo Beatlesque!
