Sure. But the blitz was ofcourse on a mega scale. I can see and understand from the images where you are coming from. But the bombing of London in the 1940's was something else.. Berlin and London should be sister cities because of this.. both capitals were reduced to rubble. Paris was spared. And now lords it over these great cities due it's beauty... |

I have a position for you to analyze. It's from a game I finished this morning - I'll spare you the full game because it was a bad show by both players but the end position was of some interest...at least to me. White to move:

 | | HeMateMe: Best TV theme song ever? Harry Nilsson's "Best Friend" from "The Courtship of Eddie's Father". A warm show about a single father and his son. No booze, bimbos or Charlie Sheen in this format. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCF7...> second best: Theme from Chico and the Man. The song by Jose Feliciao is terrific, and the street scenes are moving, so well done. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7FI...> third best: Theme from Welcome Back Kotter. A fine tune from John Sebastian (former leader of The Lovin Spoonful) does a nice job of capturing 1970s Brooklyn and the feelings of someone coming back to the old neighborhood. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPae...> |

| Aug-13-11 | | I play the Fred: My top three:
DALLAS - I prefer the season one version, with that disco beat driving things. This one soars above the clouds. I Dream of Jeannie - It's just a coincidence that Larry Hagman shows top the list of my favorite TV themes. The Jeannie theme is just catchy as hell. Hill Street Blues - especially the long version with the full Larry Carlton guitar solo. Oh yeah... Hon. mentions: Welcome Back, Kotter (good call, HMM), The Rockford Files, Magnum PI (Mike Post was the John Williams of TV), ALF (particularly the season two or three version, can't exactly recall), MONK (season one - I liked the replacement also, but the original was better), Cheers (though it may be the quality of the program influencing this pick), Simon & Simon, Charlie's Angels (though the hotness of the starring actresses may be influencing this pick. Man, detective shows always got awesome music! I'm a lazy bastard, so no links. |

| Aug-13-11 | | Wayne Proudlove: It might be the first Boston vs. Philidelphia World Series since 1915. Young Babe Ruth had a single plate-appearance pinch-hitting in Game 1. |

 | | HeMateMe: Ah....should have been a "top ten list", so much good music out there. Certainly "Rockford Files" has to be on any list, and I like the "Cheers" theme too. |
 |
| Aug-13-11 | | Wayne Proudlove: "Cheers"'s "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" is nice because Sam Malone was an alcholic and there was something dark about him; well, he needed his friends at that time. Well, there was something dark about his Red Sox years, Coach would hint at it. |
