you've mentioned "One Eyed Jacks" on here.
Did you know Stanley Kubrick was slated to direct? But when Kubrick the artist asked Brando what are we doing this project for Brando flatly stated it was about the cash.
Kubrick simply said, "That's not the kind of film I want to make."
Brando, an extremely frank man was insistent throughout his life that he was in the movies for cash and women, yet he was this enormous talent.
Roger Ebert wrote that he could be a bore. |

I'm interested in the Kubrick/Brando relationship.. I also think you're being waaay too harsh on Marlon. But there ya go.. I need to read up more and thanks for your post .. |

He loved good work, though. But movies for him were silly compared to what he considered serious professions like teaching, politics, etc.
He loved life, that's evident.
What he changed was becoming the character. His roles were so different, chameleon-like; Stanley, Marc Antony, The Godfather, Paul, Superman's dad. |
