May-25-12  Wayne Proudlove: If you play chess and you think you're pretty good but a guy who beats you is really good and a guy who beats that person is just amazing. Then how do you react to a grandmaster that makes that last amazing guy look like a fool?

technical draw: <wwall> Gotcha! President Abraham Lincoln's grandfather had the same name. You owe me a beer.
May-25-12  Wayne Proudlove: I visited Florida with my family when I was twelve. One night, I sat alone on a pier and a dude approached me and asked where I was from. I said Canada.
"Oh, home of Rush" he replied.
"Yeah, but I like Loverboy," I said.
"No, you like Rush." he corrected me.
I never understood what he meant.

HeMateMe: Teddy "Unabomber" won't be able to attend his 50th anniversary at Harvard, class of '62. But, he updated his school bio:

Abraham Lincoln’s grandson, also fooled around with Abraham Lincoln’s wife, and had several children with her.

While Abraham Lincoln never made it on to the penny, his grandson did.

technical draw: <diceman> Very good. A lot of mileage can be had with that little fact.

Loverboy was a bit butch, if you catch my drift?

wwall: President Lincoln's only grandson was also named Abraham Lincoln, but they called him Jack. Tech, if you ever see me at a tourney or anywhere else, I'll buy you that beer.
May-25-12  Wayne Proudlove: Man, keep your King and Queen off the same diagonal if your oppponent's got a Bishop on the board.

May-26-12  Djoker: Hi,
I want to improve my endgames. Any book or tool that you can suggest. Typically I fail big time in Rook and Pawn endings with almost the same material on both sides. I have improved on my tactical abilities and solve puzzles regularly. But to win games I guess I have to have strong endgames after which I'll work on Openings. Right now I play a few openings and I think I can manage with that for now.
