 | | HeMateMe: Chess in the movies reference: In the hit film <The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo>, this street urchin girl with goth makeup is a very bright investigator, just a bit strange, doesn't fit in. There is a scene in which she buys a present for an older friend or relative, who is a chessplayer. And the book is...Bobby Fischer's M60MGs (what else?). When she goes to the guy's apartment to deliver the present, he is found collapsed at a chess table (stroke), chessmen strewn about. This girl is crazy. She has a <Hard Candy> moment in the film, with an abusive boss. Not for the squeamish. Rooney Mara got nominated for best supporting actress for this part. <http://images.search.yahoo.com/imag...> |

In the book she took revenge not on her boss but on her psych supervisor, the man assigned to watch over her since she was declared mentally incompetent or something similar in her teens. |
