 | | Shams: <HMM> Sofia Coppola got the love-interest role but Francis directed. Her performance predated the Razzies, but it was famously awful and she would have won in a walk due to her casting being such a high-profile act of nepotism. In defense of the movie, Andy Garcia was incredible. |

 | | PhilFeeley: From a review of Chris Hayes' new book "Twilight of the Elites" in truthout.org: <Hayes aptly and insightfully describes that at Davos, the “social hierarchy that extends ever upward instills a potent combination of egomania and insecurity.” This is a perfect crystallization not just of Davos, but of Wall Street, Big Law, and many other areas of the elite. The combination of egomania and insecurity leads to a bottomless pit of desire for MORE—more money, more status, more power—that rivals any good addiction. As Hayes puts it, “To be successful, one must never be satisfied, and so no one ever is.”> Start reading, folks.. |

 | | HeMateMe: New actress, I think the girlfriend of Ellen Degeneres, to play Lily Munster in the coming remake. This is a TV show that shouldn't be remade. You simply can't reenact Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis, the guy who played grandpa, the vampire. Those two, with Evonne de Carlo (Lily) had such great chemistry. <http://tv.yahoo.com/photos/mockingb...> The eternally beautiful Evonne de Carlo:
<http://www.google.com/imgres?q=yvon...> Years later, in the 80s, both Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis lived in the west Village, in NYC. I saw him a couple of times, sitting out in front of a litte bistro he owned. Everyone knew he was "Grandpa Munster", and would stop and talk to him. Probably a fun show to film, too, for the actors. |

 | | dzechiel: LTJ: #3 might be Miguel Najdorf. |
 |
| Jun-14-12 | | LoveThatJoker: <dzechiel> I don't know, man: He seems too thin in a way; and his facial features (i.e., nose and lips) don't look at all like Najdorf's. I considered it before, but I don't think it's him!
LTJ |
 |
| Jun-14-12 | | SimonWebbsTiger: #3 is definitely not Najdorf. |

can't help you, really.
1 -- No idea
2 -- Bologan
3 -- No idea, but the chap is not Najdorf
4 -- No idea, I guess you must know the position and then you'll get the player; but it doesn't ring any bells here
5 -- Dreev
6 -- Not 100% sure but the drawing looks like Taimanov
7 -- A young chap playing Capablanca....Gosh darn it, I ought to know but sadly don't!
8 -- Ftacnik
I think 1, 3 and 7 are the trickiest ones in the competition. |
 |
| Jun-14-12 | | LoveThatJoker: <SWT> Are you sure that 8 is Ftacnik? Earlier, <moronovich> said that it was Ftacnik, but I just don't see it, man! LTJ |
 |
| Jun-14-12 | | SimonWebbsTiger: @<LTJ>
100% on 8 -- Ftacnik |

| Jun-14-12 | | Deus Ex Alekhina: I'm sure many of you had today circled on your calendar. No, not because it is Flag Day, but because today Burger King introduces the Bacon Sundae - soft serve ice cream with caramel, bacon crumbles, and a big slice of bacon stuck in. Is America a great country or what! |
