 | | Shams: <tpstar> Nickelback makes your list, but Leonard Cohen doesn't? Cohen should have been on <HMM>'s list anyway. <HMM> <Heart--composed of both Americans and Canadians> Who was Canadian? I thought everybody came from the Seattle area, but I can't find biographical information for John Hannah or Brian Johnstone. <Heart> grew up in Canada because Ann fell in love with guitarist Roger Fischer's brother, Mike. Mike was, as they say stationed in Canada during the war. |

 | | HeMateMe: All a matter of personal taste. I find Leonard Cohen too dreary to listen too. Nickelback reminds me of Pantara and evey other metal band, just switch names. Heart hasn't been relevant for 20 years, but in their time they were a top ten band. I do like k.d. Lang and Celine Dion. I just named ten groups/people that came to mind. BTO, mentioned by <Travis> is a personal favorite, they just weren't around for very long. Ann and Nancy Wilson are americans, from Seattle. the three men in the original <Heart> lineup are Canadians. |

Nope. We're talking about another type of adapter, not the one I illustrated.> ...doesnt it adapt from album to 45? |

 | | Shams: <The three men in the original <Heart> lineup are Canadians.> Roger Fisher went to Bothell High, which I assure you is in Washington State. Still lives nearby in Lynnwood. |

For the record, I dont consider
singers musicians. |

 | | Shams: <All a matter of personal taste. I find Leonard Cohen too dreary to listen too.> I disagree that it is *all* a matter of personal taste. There are certain things that must be respected. The guy has sold boatloads of records, is cited as an influence by lots of musicians, and is an amazing lyricist. :P |
 |
Aug-21-12
 | | HeMateMe: I didn't say he doesn't have talent. I just find him boring. Metallica has sold a boatload of records too, and I don't listen to them. BTW, just because U2's Bono says the guy is brilliant, it does not give the guy unquestioned brilliance. |

 | | Shams: <BTW, just because U2's Bono says the guy is brilliant, it does not give the guy unquestioned brilliance.> That's a shame, because I only listen to musicians that Bono recommends. I also only read books with the "Bono's book club selection" sticker on them. And if I'm thinking of dating a girl, I first send her picture to Bono for feedback. |

 | | tpstar: This place needs some Canadian bacon = http://youtu.be/KW22JDVEejk <Nickelback makes your list, but Leonard Nimoy doesn't?> I'm sure Spock makes for a fine singer, if you are into that sort of thing. :P "Someday" is a nice Nickelback song, although I liked it better the first time when it was called "How You Remind Me" = http://youtu.be/pvujgcbaCF8 <Travis Bickle> Unfortunately I am allergic to Steppenwolf. Growing up, my local radio station played "Born To Be Wild" every single day. I mean every single day. ;>D |

 | | HeMateMe: Whoever owns the publishing for <Shaking All Over> must me a happy person. Every band worth their salt records that song. Canada's <Guess Who> recorded it on their Born in Canada album: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K__-...> |
