kingfu: Einstein did the relative theory which is that the more time you spend with relatives , the slower time flows.

I am going walkabout through the SW, West Coast and NW. I am going to the UFO Museum in Roswell to see if they have any UFOs displayed. I will probably see lots of pictures of '38 DeSoto hubcaps.

At the end of his life, Lyle Alzado looked like a UFO. He drank too much diet soda.

Aug-25-12  thomastonk: <chessgames.com> QoT: "Modern chess is too much concerned with things like pawn structure. Forget it; checkmate ends the game." --- Short

A few days ago I suggested to add a source or a year to the QoT, and now I would like to extend it in case of Nigel Short: please estimate the number of glasses of wine. Thank you.

HeMateMe: Nigel Short has plenty of company in this category.

Korchnoi claims to have played a game of chess against a long dead master, through a spiritual medium.

Blackburne ("Black Death") said a glass of whiskey adds to his creativity at the chessboard.

Fischer said he could give Knight odds to any female player.

Actually, Fischer is in a separate category...

Aug-25-12  thomastonk: <HeMateMe> When I wrote my comment I thought on Nigel Short's amazing post mortems at the London Chess Classic the last years. Pure fun, and excellent comments as well. The glass of wine there is also post mortem.

The Korchnoi game really happened, it is well documented and I see no relation to wine or other drugs. And why did you forgot to mention the russian school, say Alexander Alekhine and Emmanuel Schiffers?

I am kidding, sorry.

And you thought "House" was a TV doctor:>

I thought "House" was what people lived in?

(and those pcs. you buy in Monopoly)

For the record, Marcus Welby MD, and Dr. Kildare were TV doctors.

Aug-25-12  Wayne Proudlove: I'm a big Bob Dylan fan and anticipate his new album in September. This morning over coffee I thought about it and I can honestly say I've listened to any one of his albums all the way through an embarassingly low number of times. For interest's sake I'll say the two albums I find casual enough to enjoy for pleasure are "Highway 61 Revisited" and "Love And Theft".
