Chessical: Von Balla achieves everything White could want in the Closed Ruy Lopez with his Knight getting to <f5> and an attack his opponent underestimates.

<22...gxf5!> is much better; 23. Qxh6 Bf8 (23... fxe4? 24. Nxe5!) 24. Qxf6 Bg7 25. Qg5 f4 and White's advantage is discernable but not overwhelming.

<23...g5?> allows Von Balla to play a splendid sacrifice

<24...Nc2> is equally hopeless, 25. Bxh6 Nd5 (25... Nxe1? 26. Qg5+ Kh8 27. Qg7#) 26. Bxc2 Qxc2 27. Qxa5 Qxb2 28. Rxa4 Qb7 29. dxe5 dxe5 30. Nxe5 Kh7 and Black is three pawns down for no compensation.
