Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-26-05  Knight13: 10... Qe7?! is a doubious move. It allowed White to play 11. e5!, which is strong. 10... Nf6 would've been better.

13... Nf6?? is a blunder. This move cost Black the game. Better is 13... Kf8.

Mar-11-07  sneaky pete: 13... Kf8 14.Ba3 Bc5 15.Nxf7 .. isn't very pleasant for black either. Another idea (after 13... Kf8) is 14.Re1 .. threat 15.Ng6+. Then if 14... Nxc4 15.Nxc4 Bxf2+ (black gets a fair share of the fun) 16.Kxf2 Qh4+ 17.g3 Qxc4 18.Ba3+ .. and wins.

McDonnell 1 mistake:
16.Re1 0.82 (16.Ng6 1.85)

De La Bourdonnais 7 mistakes:
10...Qe7 0.83 (10...Nge7 -0.05)
11...dxe5 1.17 (11...d5 0.83)
13...Nf6 1.73 (13...Bd7 1.19)
16...Kc7 2.98 (16...Rf8 0.82)
17...a6 5.56 (17...Bd7 2.96)
20...Qd8 #12 (20...Qd7 5.66)
23...Kd7 #2 (23...Qxd5 #6)

Jan-10-09  WhiteRook48: very easy for White to go wrong in this position.
Feb-01-12  Knight13: <WhiteRook48: very easy for White to go wrong in this position.> You mean Black. I'd bet that La Bourdonnais played 11...Qe7? as an experiment.
