Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-30-04  Minor Piece Activity: A pretty modern game. MacD sacks the exchange and La Bourdannais counter sacrifices the exchange to win a piece and the game. A question, what is the refutation of 19...Ng3? Also, doesn't 18...Bxf1 give black a clear advantage with attack?
Nov-30-04  sneaky pete: <Minor Piece Activity> I see no refutation, 19... Ng3! is winning, as would have been 18... Nc4 (the white queen must observe square g5, so 19.Qc1 Nxb2 20.Re1 Qh4 etc).
Nov-30-04  Minor Piece Activity: Thanks pete! =)
Dec-01-04  dorn: <18... Nc4 (the white queen must observe square g5, so 19.Qc1 Nxb2 20.Re1 Qh4 etc)>

There is an excellent blow in this line: 18... Nc4 19.Qc1 Be3!!

May-06-08  David2008: I don't understand this game at all. Why not 16 ... KxBh7 17 Ng5+ Kg8 and if 18 gxBh3 Nc4 wins a piece.
May-06-08  sneaky pete: <David2008> In that line white can play 18.Nxh3.
Feb-01-12  Knight13: Try 19... Kg8.
