Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-04-05  Knight13: 34. Qd5 is a bad move, I guess.

17. Bxg6! is surprising. 17...hxg6 18. Qxg6+ and white will Mate black very quickly.

Feb-14-05  InspiredByMorphy: White had a clear advantage and threw it away with 23.Qxe6 . Why try to win another pawn when already up one? All black had going was a kingside attack which had white defended properly would have left black lost. Note that black offered the draw after 23. ...Rg6 24.Qc8+ Rg8 25.Qe6 Rg8 26.Qc8+ Rg6 27.Qc8+ Rg8 and white declined it with 28.Qd7? I think white would have been a whole lot better off playing 23.Kh2 which would have alleviated blacks kingside threats. In fact black would then have to worry about 24.Qxb7 .
Feb-14-05  NakoSonorense: it could have been a draw for reaching the same position three times. Instead of 26.Qd7 he could've moved 26.Qc8+ Or there's some way to get out for black?

a draw is much better than a lose.

Feb-25-06  NakoSonorense: what the heck was i thinking?

Zenchess: <InspiredByMorphy> White would have had to capture the pawn on e6 anyway because of the threat of capturing the pawn on g2. For instance, 23. Kh1?? Rxg2 24. Qxe6 Rg6 wins immediately for Black.
