Jun-24-06		percyblakeney: <Gossip was beaten by Burn at yesterday's chess tournament, and he attributed his defeat to the fact that his chair was too low> New York Times, 11 May 1889 (quoted by Richard Forster in his book on Burn) Especially 32. ... c6 and the following moves must have been caused by the chair... Still Gossip didn't mind sitting on his too low chair for at least 30 rather pointless moves at the end.
