InspiredByMorphy: I didnt want to believe that 14.f4! was playable as I thought black must have some better defense to it, but blacks problem is under-development. Is 13. ... Ng6 better?

Chessical: <InspiredByMorphy> The addition of <13...Ng6> does not seem to help Black's defence a great deal:

<13...Ng6> 14.f4 exf4 15.Bxf4 Nxf4 16.Rxf4 Qb6+ 17.d4

Walbrodt's 14.f4 and 15.Bxf4 was a great practical try, but it seems to me that Caro came close to solving all the problems over the board.

  InspiredByMorphy: <Chessical> Do you think it would help much if after 13. ... Ng6 14.f4 exf4 15.Bxf4 Nxf4 16.Rxf4 black played ... Qe7 ?

Chessical: <InspiredByMorphy> After <13...Ng6> 14.f4 exf4 15.Bxf4 Nxf4 16.Rxf4 <Qe7> does not gain the tempo to protect g7, e.g. <17.Qxg7> Rf8 18.Raf1 which seems very unpleasant for Black. But even if Black did play for example Qb6+ then 0-0, I would much prefer White's attacking options especially against f7.
