Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-07-09  fred lennox: a brilliant game by Chigorin. After 15...g4 black does not have a comfortable place to castle and the king bishop becomes bad. 24...Na3 puts the white rook right where it wants to be defending the e2 knight. So now 25...Bb5 is without threat, for 26. Qd5+...Kg7 27. Qe6. Blacks position is uncomfortable. The other time white exploits black's exposed king is the pin of the knight on 42.Rc1. The pins real effect is the knight being on the same diagonal as the king which becomes decisive. The moves 26-50 is well worth looking at. Excellent endgame too.
Dec-04-10  lionel15: I thought the end game most instuctional
Nov-21-17  goser: Probably the last tournament game win by Chigorin.
Nov-21-17  WorstPlayerEver: Black first should have played 41... Re5 before taking on c3
