Jun-15-06  Whitehat1963: Where did Tivikov go wrong in this one?
Jun-15-06  borisbadenoff: <Whitehat1963: Where did Tivikov go wrong in this one?> The error in my opinion was 21. Na2 which loses some tempo and is not necessary. Then he probably mixed up some move order as Rf2 works better after 22. Nxb4 axb4 23. Rf2 as now the whole e5 24. Bxe4 Nxe4 25. Dxe4 Ref8 26. Qh4 Rxe3 idea doesn't work anymore -> Qh6!!

22. Rf2 allows instant equalization for black with e5.

Then comes the big blunder 28. gxh6 after Rh5 the problem is the queen and the knight on b4 can't be saved at the same time.

After 29. Nxa6 the game is over anyhow and allows Qe5!! instead maybe Qf4 to exchange the queens could have helped a little to reduce blacks attacking power.

After Qf4 Rg5 there is nothing left then to resign as a mate isn't far away

Jun-15-06  Whitehat1963: How do things look after 21. Bd2 instead of Tiviakov's 21. Na2?
Jun-16-06  borisbadenoff: Well that would also be a turnpoint which loses all the advantage to black. Better here would be something as easy as Bg4, Bf2, Rc1
