| Feb-24-04 | | rafaelluiz: A GM using Scadinavian today?????
Very surprising :) |
| Feb-24-04 | | TrueFiendish: Australian GM Ian Rogers uses it regularly, and has introduced some interesting ideas. |
| Feb-24-04 | | rafaelluiz: Very thnxs TrueFiendish, I will take look in his games. |
| Feb-25-04 | | TrueFiendish: I've had a look at some of Rogers' efforts and it looks like he should probably give up on the Scandinavian... |
| May-11-07 | | lunacyfrog: Scandinavian is extremely underrated. |
| May-11-07 | | NimzoKing: At club level one can get good results with the Scandinavian. As you progress though you'll notice that in the main lines it is not hard for white to build a nice advantage. One methood being 1.e4 ...d5 2.ed ...Qxd5 3Nc3 ...Qa5 (anything else is easy for white)3d4 ...c6 4.Nf3 ...Nf6 5Bc4 ...Bf5 6Ne5 ...e6 7g4! ...Bg6 8.h4! Another and simpler method of handleing the Scandinavian is 1.e4 ...d5 2ed ...Qxd5 3Nc3 ...Qa5 4Bc4 ...c6 5d3!? White has a really easy game in the latter and black can often go down quickly in the first line |

 | | WarmasterKron: <(anything else is easy for white)> I beg to differ. Many serious Scandi players these days favour 3...Qd6 (as played by Nisi against Topalov recently) and I've heard some sing the praises of 3...Qe5!?. I've also heard good words about 3...Qd8, but I'm convinced that's rubbish. That said, however, Black slips up in this game with the dubious 2...Qxd5?!. As any fule kno, the correct move is 2...Nf6! |
| Jun-09-07 | | NimzoKing: <As any fule kno, the correct move is 2...Nf6!> Nf6 is a good move, but no better than QxP. Nf6 develops and saves the queen being harrased but again, with moves such as d4 and c4 white has a nice centre. The interesting 3c4!? is playable when black has either ...e6 or ...c6 both with sharp play. As you analyse the positions though you'll notice that with correct play white is better anyway - just needs to know what he/she is doing for the opening moves. |

Rybka 3
after 11...0-0 black has equalised |

Feb-18-11
 | | jmboutiere: until 37.Qa4 black was slightly better, 37.Qc1 is better. After the 37 th white move, black has the upper hand |
