Feb-03-04  Whitehat1963: Why is this over?
Feb-03-04  fred lennox: I'll give my not so expert guess. I can't find a variation where white does not loose a queenside pawn and black has a queenside majority against whites weak kingside pawns. While I believe Bogoljubow has this game resignation does seem early.
Feb-03-04  TrueFiendish: Indeed, after 27.Qxd2 Rxd2 28.Re8+ Kh7 29.Re7 I can't see how black is on top at all.
Feb-03-04  technical draw: I believe that after all the exchanges, whites "a" pawn is dead and blacks "a" pawn waltzes in.
Feb-03-04  TrueFiendish: 'Tis fiendishly hard to queen rook pawns when rooks are on. Can't white eventually get behind that pawn with his rook?
Feb-03-04  technical draw: White doesn't know how to do that, that's why he resigned.
Feb-03-04  TrueFiendish: :-) td, you are good value: I've gotten some decent laughs from this site and you're one of the culprits.

Chessical: <Whitehat1963> I think it's over as after Chajes balefully surveyed the wreck of his pawn structure he felt too demoralised to continue.
