Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-08-06  paladin at large: A fine ending by Marshall. I do not understand Nimzo's 20. Ra5 - and then 31. Kg2 and 32. f4 open up the white king to repeated checks by the black queen, gaining tempos for black.
Aug-08-06  Albertan: Hi Paladin. I don't understand 20.Ra5 either.Nimzowitch could have played more aggressively on move 25 by playing
25.Qd5 and play might have continued:
22. Qd5 Qxb4 23. Rxa7 Rb8 24. Bf3 Qf4 25. Qd6 Qd4 26. Qxd4 exd4 27. Rxb7 Rxb7 28. Bxb7 Bxd3 39.Rd1 Rb8 40.Rxd3 Rxb7
Sep-17-06  woodenbishop: Awesome chess by Marshall.
May-13-15  cunctatorg: The psychological pressure was on Nimzowitsch during this last round and it proved to be too much for him...; even his choice of the opening wasn't wise...
Dec-19-15  Howard: According to Suenteus's list (see below), this game took place in the fifth round, though---not the last one.
