Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-14-05  OJC: From Alekhine in the tournament book:

After 7. ... , gxf6

"This move is, for a Lasker, almost unbelievable. Black completely ruins his P position without obtaining the slightest compensation."

After move 12 (to which Alekhine attaches a ? for Black):

"Speaking in general, the present game is, and not through Flohr's fault, one of the poorest in the tournament."

Indeed. An awful game by the aging Lasker in what was otherwise a pretty good tournament for him.

Feb-28-09  WhiteRook48: he got an attack on the Flohr
Jun-27-13  jerseybob: The Ragozin was still fairly new at the time of this game, and Lasker doesn't seem quite up on the subtle points. I'd blame the move 6..Qd6, part of a faulty plan which never gets carried out, and substitute 6..h6(or maybe Nc6 or c6). Lasker's 7..gf may be ugly, but it's consistent.
