patzer2: Why does White resign in this game's final position?
Jan-01-04   pilot: Perhaps on time? I see no reason why White should give up the ghost either.
Jan-02-04   DWINS: I wonder if there's a typo and Black really resigned because White wins in the final position with 31.Rd6! threatening the devastating 32.Nxc5

If 31...Bxd6 32.exd6 and Black is toast.

patzer2: <DWINS> Good analysis of 31. Rd6! as a winning move. Fritz 8 also gives 31. Rb2 or 31. Nxc5 or 31. Bxc5 or 31. Rfd2 as winning moves for White. <pilot> perhaps, as you suggest, White lost on time or as <DWINS> suggests it should be recorded as Black resigned. <ChessGames.Com> Shouldn't this game be recorded as a White win?
