Oct-01-05  lopium: Incredible game.
Oct-01-05  fgh: Not that much incredible but nice anyway.
Aug-01-10  BobCrisp: As pointed out by <Ray Keene> in a letter to the August 1994 <BCM>, <this game was actually a fine strategical and tactical performance by Brunner up to the point that he missed a simple win.>

He's referring to the position after move 33 by White:

Here 33....Rxd2 (instead of 33...Kg6??) is evidently decisive after 34.Nxd2 Qd3+ or 34.Rb7+ Ne7 etc.

Ray's rare missive was in response to a glowing <BCM> review of a new Russian edition of Alekhine's book <Auf dem Wege zur Weltmeisterschaft>, wherein the editors had adorned the champ's play in this game with no less than 5 <!>s and no criticism.

As Ray surmised, this was a simul game, one of 40, in which Alekhine could only score +29 =5 -6.

Oct-04-15  TheFocus: From a simultaneous exhibition in Mexico City, Mexico at the Ministry of War and Marine on May 27, 1929.

Alekhine scored +29=5-6.

See <Boletin de Ajedrez 1929>, pg. 91.
