Sep-02-05  error: I don't know who Bogumir Stupan is, but his win against Alekhine is impeccable here. In fact, this is his only victory in the database! Maybe it was a simul?

perfidious: My guess is that is most likely a simul; Alekhine won a tourney at San Remo that year by a huge margin, without loss of a game. In fact, he didn't lose a tournament game in 1929-1930, his score among the three events being a staggering +30 =3, even though it should be mentioned that in the 1930 Olympiad, his 9/9 result resulted from mainly beating up on the weaker teams, unlike Rubinstein, who got (I think) 15/17, playing (nearly?) every match.
Sep-02-05  WMD: Of course it was a simul.
Jun-04-12  YoungEd: Simul or not, this is an impressive win for Black!

<WMD>,
The game was played as part of a 29-board simul on the 13th of December. Alekhine finished with a score of +23, -4, =2.

Nov-18-12  The Rocket: <Stupendous.> Not really... 28 Rc1- and it's a perfectly balanced position, rxd1 is insane... not to speak of g5??

Rather self destructive game from Alekhine.
