Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-01-06  reynolds: Amazing game by Csom... thoughts on this opening, anyone?
Sep-01-06  sneaky pete: Black is okay.
Sep-01-06  Runemaster: I think 3.Nc3 is not the most accurate. Black intends to play ...Bb4, so it's probably better to defend the e4 pawn by Bd3. This leaves White the option of moving the 'c' pawn or developing the knight on d2.

I thought that White played some strange moves early on. 9.e5 simply led to a blocked centre, which suited Black; his king was uncastled, so he was abe to start an attack with 10...g5.

Also, the whole B-b5/c6/b7 exchanging manouvre seemed to take too much time and not be positionally justified.

Still, White in this game is well-known Hungarian GM Adorjan (very young at the time), before he changed his name. Maybe experiences like this game made him call his best-known book "Black is OK".

Sep-01-06  RookFile: Well, questions like this are really like arguing over religion. After 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 should white play 3. Nc3 allowing Bb4, or 3. Nd2 allowing ....c5? They're still fighting this one out.
Sep-05-06  aw1988: And I like f3.
