Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-29-04  Resignation Trap: I went through a phase of trying 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Qe7!? myself. My results were usually quite good.

Perhaps as a result of losing games like this, Alburt decided to leave the USSR.

Jun-22-05  falso contacto: dont like this stuff. who cares.
Sep-06-05  Resignation Trap: For a more recent game with 2...Qe7 (played AFTER my initial post of Jan-29-04) see: Adams vs Radjabov, 2004 .
Sep-06-05  THE pawn: Does the opening explorer state if Qe7 is any good for black ( popular and high average % winning)?

Sneaky: Pawn, you can see for yourself here Opening Explorer.

After 3.Nc3, White does very well, statistically, winning 45.8% of the games but losing 37.5%

Sep-06-05  THE pawn: <sneaky> I would have looked by myself, but for some reason, I can't ...open( ha-ha) the opening explorer today. Crap.

chessgames.com: <THE Pawn> Really? What happens when you try to use it? If there is a problem on our end we can have somebody look into it.
Sep-06-05  THE pawn: I have had my dose of problems lately.

<chessgames> I don't know why, I've been able to use it since I first saw the site. But now, the opening explorer system doesn't seem to respond ( a broken link, or the page doesn't show up...) But it's most probably my computer, as everyone else seems to be able to use it. It's not the first time I have problems of this sort. The Java engine suddenly stopped working once, after that it was the entire kibitzing white square that wasn't there. I'll check once more my internet connection. Anyone might know where the problem is coming from? By-os, cable problems...etc?

Jul-29-08  ToTheDeath: Rybka recommends 9.h3! with a big plus after 9...Bxf3 10.Qxf3 or 9...Be6 10.Qe2 followed by Rd1. Note that 9...Bh5? 10.g4! Bg6 11.Nxe5! is atrocious for Black.

So much for the vaunted Brazilian defense.
