Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-09-05  lopium: I never read one chess book (unfortunately! nobody gives me one!). But 10...Re8 seems to be a computoresque move. I don't know if it's a well known variation of the sicilian.
Apr-09-05  Bishops r power: I think that the ignored pawn in the a file caused Anand's opponent to surrender. U should never give up. Who knows, the game might have ended in a stalemate, just like it did when judit polgar and Karpov was versing once and karpov drew the match from an exceptional winning position!

Boomie: <lopium> Not a lot of games with this opening through move 9. See <games similar to this one> below the game diagram. 10. Kh1 seems unnecessary as f4 can be played immediately. Re8 is a common placement in Sicilian openings.
Apr-24-05  Milo: One think's of Anand as an attacker, but here is a wonderful piece of defense.
Apr-23-08  mate2900s: white is busted because of Bg2+
Apr-23-08  fromoort: <Milo> Anand is one the best defenders.
Mar-13-12  efvaatn: I agree
