refutor: what's the idea behind playing ...Bh5 unprovoked here? is torre trying to transpose into a line, anticipating h3 by white? or is there a more devious idea...please help :)
Apr-01-03  Spitecheck: LOL that's a tough one, it's like an anti-book move, where h3 would by white would get you back in the book.....aside from that he may have just wanted to see where the N on d2 was going prior to castling, I doubt that though. His priority may not have been to pin the knight but to exchange it's c2 counterpart, hence g4 was just a transit square! I don't think he was afraid of the immediate h3, g4.
Jul-03-06  rjsolcruz: 8 years later, also in an Olympiad, El Eugenio varied with 10... Bg4 against then World #4 Topalov and win in 55 moves. It's one of Torre's win against a World Champion.
Oct-30-08  wollkay: <refutor> the same idea that torre had invoked in his match against topalov in armenia. it is very original since many consider ...d4 as the best.
