Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-15-04  oblivion95: Is this game real?

The last move is a complete blunder, a hanging Rook. Given several other bad moves -- e.g. 13...QxQ would have avoided the pawn fork, and 23.NxN would have been a very simple move to find -- I wonder whether this game was played with some sort of rapid time control. Otherwise, the players must have drunk. Could the whole game be a fabrication?

(These observations were pointed out to me by James F. Holwell, a chessteacher.)

Feb-15-04  GoodKnight: You're right. This game is certainly odd.

I expect it was a game with rapid time control. 23. Nxh3 is very obvious and I wouldn't expect anyone to miss it except with very little time left.
