Jun-05-03  drukenknight: are you sure. WHat about 10...Bb4+ can black trade some material and keep it alive?

for instance 10...Bb4+ 11 c3 Qxf3 12 QxQ Nxd4

just thinking out loud.

Jun-24-03  ravet: i've seen better!
Jun-24-03  mkdir: Qxf6 is a faulty move i guess...bring out the queen too early into the open and got attacked...
Jun-25-03  caseyclyde: After 10...Bb4+ 11 c3 Qxf3 12 QxQ Nxd4 black is still alive but after 13. Qd1 white threatens two pieces with the c pawn and also threatens Bb5+ with mate on d8

Honza Cervenka: Lasker played in a game against Tarrasch 6...Bd7 7.Bg5 Qg6 8.Bd3 f5 and survived. See Tarrasch vs Lasker, 1908
Jun-26-03  euripides: 8...Qa5+ is interesting. E.g. 9c3 Nxd4 10Nxd4 Qxg5 and Black is probably OK e.g. 11 Bb5+?! c6 12 Nxc6 Bd7 ! and White's attack fails.
Jun-27-03  drunknight II: 8.....Qa5+ 9 c3?

no way. You want to hit the Q with the B to keep her running. This is like basic chess. It looks like the Q may run out of room if it has to run. Already there is almost no place on the 5th rank for her. guarded by 2 Bs, a pawn and knight.

You have to think white would hit the Q w/ the B in that situation. Just have to.

Jun-28-03  euripides: If 8...Qa5+ 9 Bd2 Black could consider 9...Bb4 e.g. 10 c3 Be7 11 c4 Bb4. White's bishop retreat does inconvenience the Q but also loses a tempo. White could hassle the Q further with 11 a3 but the Queen can go back tothe Kingside if necessary. Black's kingside has no protective pieces if the bishops are exchanged so he'll have to consider Q-side castling, a problem going back to his fourth move.

Mar-28-04  Vischer: Anyone know if there is a reason that this is where all the newbies come to kibitz?(No offense to people new to chessgames.com)Is it because when you click demo for the color thingy on preferences it goes to this game? What does that have to do with anything.
Apr-02-04  SADDAM: sup yo, gm saddam in da house
May-22-04  HailM0rphy: Heh I think you got it Vischer..Also Dec 23 01 post by sneaky is the earliest kibitz I've seen on here without searching..So maybe it was first game put into chessgames.com..?
Jul-26-04  lismet: Just thought I would say hello and keep the thread going

Sep-14-04  Lawrence: <Maris>, which program?
Apr-05-05  peanut: guess the house is empty... Hmmm... =|
May-04-05  schnarre: I agree with mkdir that ...Qxf6 was a mistake (allowing Bg5).
May-09-05  edragon845: the moves: 1.e4-e5 2.Qh5- opening name?
May-09-05  Fischer of Men: <edragon845> A quick search led to more information on this opening than you probably ever wanted to know...

May-10-05  schnarre: 1. e4 e5 2. Qh5...sheesh, even I'm loathed to play that one!
Dec-21-05  EmperorAtahualpa: <Sneaky> I am looking for the first ever kibitz on this site! Is your kibitz of Dec-23-01 the first ever on this website or were there before you?
Dec-22-05  Chopin: This game is painful to watch. Bird got slaughtered. It's bad enough that he lost his Queen, but then a knight. If NxB then Qd8 is mate.
