Aug-21-04  sneaky pete: Mr.Bird never ceases to amaze me. Here he plays a bona fide grandmaster draw, a century ahead of his time. The event/site description Paris 4pl-plof is very intriguing, as is the designation ECO C77 in the box next to the score.
Feb-26-05  fgh: I agree <sneaky pete>.
Feb-20-08  Knight13: <sneaky pete> I agree also.
Mar-26-08  Chessdreamer: Schlechter vs Duras, 1912
Feb-21-12  paul1959: This score seems wrong: According to all sites I checked on Paris 1878 ,(including this one!) Bird and Mackenzie had one win each in their tournament encounters with Mackenzie winning the two tie-break games to determine the fourth place winner.

Calli: <paul1959> You are correct. This game is actually Schlecter-Duras 1912 as Chessdreamer pointed out in 2008.

Even forgeries have rights, I suspect.

The more interesting question is, why was it ever created? (We probably will never know.)
