Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-21-06  WhoKeres: The fact that Lasker had an outside passed pawn was decisive in this game.

ganstaman: Between moves 5 and 10, what was Bird doing? Did he realize that there was a game of chess to be played? (Listen to this arrogance, and if I played against Bird I'd be crushed, but of course this is what kibitzing is all about)
Jun-21-06  Bartleby: <Between moves 5 and 10, what was Bird doing? Did he realize that there was a game of chess to be played?>

Maybe he had a bout of arthritic cramps that inhibited him from making grand piece movements, which passed only by move eleven.

Bird is the 19th-century Duncan Suttles. No other among his peers, with the possible exception of Preston Ware , indulged in as much whimsy as the openings as he.

Apr-04-08  Knight13: <Between moves 5 and 10, what was Bird doing?> Trying out new ideas. Or maybe he was pissed off and decided to go psycho.
