Mateo: Interesting game. I wonder if it was annotated.

18...b5! was a sound sacrifice but later Bogoljubov missed 23...Nb6 threatening Nxd5 as well as c4, and Black wins back the pawn.

27...Qb4? was bad. 28.Nb5! and 28.Bd2! were strong moves. But Eliskases missed 30.Rf2!! Bxf2+ 31.Kg2!, the Black Queen is lost. However, White was still winning after 30.Kg2. The connected pawns were to strong. The way Eliskases won the ending was convincing.

Pawn and Two: <Mateo> This game and the match were extensively annotated by Eliskases in his book; 'Wettkampf - Bogoljubow-Eliskases 1939'.

I referred to Eliskases's book to make several corrections to our database, regarding the game scores, dates and sites for the match games. These corrections have been completed.

I have also made a game collection for this match, and I see <Chessical> currently has work in progress for this match.
