Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-14-04  Pall: A good example of a Rook sacrifice by Bronstein. It managed to dissolve Spasskys position into a dead draw.
Mar-30-06  Resignation Trap: Spassky could have tried 27...Qd8! intending to meet 28.Ne6 with 28...Qe8!, or 28.f4 with 28...Nf7!

Instead of returning the exchange with 31...Rxe3, Spassky could have tried 31...Rd8 32.Nxc4 Rxg2+ 33.Kxg2 Rxd5, with a bishop vs. three pawns.

In the final position, Black easily draws with 34...Rxf3 35.Bxf3 Nc6. But he is not lured into 34...Bd4+ 35.Kh1 Nf2+ 36.Kh2 Rg4? 37.Rxf2! Rxh4+ 38.Kg3 Bxf2+ 39.Kxf2 .
