Jul-11-09   nolanryan: 13 .. Ng4 is pretty far out. what if hxg4

after something like 14 hxg4 h5 15. Nxg5 seems good, or 14 hxg4 Bxg4 15 Kg1 I can't see any really over the top follow-ups. I'm sure moves like .. Nd4 or ..f5 are some of the things envisioned but it doesn't seem like enough

  IMlday: After 13..Ng4 14.hxg4 h5 15.Bxg5 hxg4+ 16.Bh4 the sorcerer's choice is 16..Qe7! when the weird 17.Bh3!? may be needed as 17.Nge2 Rxh4+ 18.gxh4 Nf3+ 19.Bxf3 Qxh4+ 20.Kg1 gxf3 wins. 15.Bh1 hxg4+ 16.Kg2 f6! threatening ..Bf8 is also bizarre. All in all declining the gambit makes sense.
Jul-18-09   nolanryan: thanks imlday. the variations are sharper than i thought
