In the Tournament book; von Bardeleben comments: "A brilliant combination, which turns the game in the favor of Black by sacrificing the Queen".

Nay-Sayers go around building "Straw Men" of players here and there. Copy-Cats then parrot the narrative, and the myth grows. But when you look closely at those players yourself; you find strength and wisdom that can help you improve your own game.
