Aug-24-04  Rowson: Nice example of an Night promotion! Who the hell is "FERENCZY" and why is his name all in caps???
Aug-24-04  sneaky pete: <Rowson> Ferenczy,G. is an amateur from Miskolcz, known in other circles as NN. Sergeant's book on Charousek has a game from 1898 he lost in 24 moves, receiving QKt odds. HIS NAME IS IN CAPS, AS ARE EVENT AND SITE, BECAUSE THE SUPPLIER OF THE GAME ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED THE CAPS LOCK AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO CORRECT AFTERWARDS. He (aforementioned supplier) probably hadn't had his first cup of coffee (or tea, in case of being an Englishman).

Phony Benoni: Oh. And here I thought he must have been a capital fellow.
Dec-30-13  Calli: 4. Bc4 which turns the opening into a Giuoco Piano is s rare move. The few other games are here: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches...
Nov-28-14  Ke2: Lol! I have to try the Ruy Lopez fake-out sometime.
Mar-04-18  zanzibar: Bachmann gives this game as played on the 16th, not the 11th.
Dec-22-19  sea7kenp: Interesting: Knight Promotion forces Mate in One. Queen Promotion, while Hopeless for White allows, at least one "Spite Check": 37 Rxe5+ (but nothing else).
