Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-19-06   Runemaster: A very strange final position, particularly in a master game. The rook is powerless against the army of white pawns.

IMlday: 16..Qc7?? just blunders a pawn for nothing. 16..Qg6 made sense. The ending is somewhat amusing unless you were Black ;-)

Richard Taylor: <IMDay> Yes! Qc7 is no good - did you have a chance else? - this variation has only 3 examples of accepting the pawn -is it bad judgement to take the pawn (by whoever does?) - I was looking at it before I saw this game (and two others one is a draw) and wonder if I would play the move OTB as it gives White quite some play...but a pawn is a pawn? Or is it not worth it? It seems White is a bit better.
