Honza Cervenka: This game was played in time when Peter Leko was still only a very talented fifteen years old kid and not an elite super GM but still Karpov's ability to outplay his opponent in seemingly simple and hopelessly even position is impressive.
Aug-10-06  DCP23: What's interesting to note that even 'when Peter Leko was still only a very talented fifteen years old kid' he still strived to reach 'simple and hopelessly even positions'...
Sep-13-06  azi: Yes. Karpov has always had a style which made his solutions to problems appear easy. But it is only after mastering all that is masterable in chess, that the most efficient and chessically pleasing stratagem will yield itself. Karpov's games, if you verbalize them, instruct you as to what to do. Each one is like a lesson in positional play.
