He would probably justify 5.Qc1 as prophylaxis, protecting the Bishop and ducking out of a potential pin with ...Bg4. For example, 5.c4?!,e5; 6.fxe5,Ng4 pins and captures the pawn on 35. But seriously, the natural 5.Nf3 is adequate. |

I remember that Euwe was talking to Aron Nimzowitsch. Euwe said that he was a member of the Hanseatic Justice League. He said that Denmark was totally in the way of ships going to and fro to the Baltic from the Netherlands. Euwe suggested a canal to traverse Denmark.
Aron Nimzowitsch said they already had one: the Kiel Canal. Anyway, Aron Nimzowitsch had already won this game. |

Black's had done quite a bit of good work up until its demise at the end of the game but it certainly wasn't lucky. White's N wasn't good. In fact it was very bad indeed. On the other hand, it had all the luck. |
