Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-26-04  KorchnoisComplaint: This game is impressive in its one-sidedness. Canal doesn't seem to relinquish the initiative even once, allowing him to obtain superior position througout. -Bravo Canal!
Jun-26-04  qqq: are you a c++ progrmmer?
Jun-28-04  KorchnoisComplaint: <qqq> Not really, but i do like to experiment with programming from time to time. I actually prefer higher level 'script languages' like Perl and Python, but of course you probably woudn't have noticed if i'd written the bio with them!
Jun-28-04  KorchnoisComplaint: On another note, I think if you're going to play the Giuoco Piano (literally the "quiet game", or "The Old Stodge" as E.M. Forster called it) as white, the so-called 'Canal Variation' is probably the best line to take--that is, if there is such a thing as a best line. In any case it's probably my favorite variation. Any thoughts?
Dec-18-20  posoo: Everybody recognizes how weak a player You was.
Dec-18-20  sudoplatov: Canal should have had an advantage if playing in Venice.
Dec-22-20  technical draw: <sudoplatov: Canal should have had an advantage if playing in Venice.>

I think he was the chess champion of Panama.
