Sep-17-04   ForeverYoung: This game must have been one of Fischer's simuls in the Phillipines. I recognize black as having played in the 1970 Interzonal. Fischer is using the "chameleon" attack vs. the Sicilian. Slick technique by Bobby!
Sep-17-04   sneaky pete: <ForeverYoung> It's not from a simul, it's a one vs one game with classic time control. RJF arrived in the Philippines in April 1967 for a scheduled international tournament. When the other foreign grandmasters Ivkov and Pomar didn't show up, the formula was changed into a "Beat Bobby Fischer"-contest. None of the Philippino masters succeeded however, only Balinas managed to draw, see R C Balinas vs Fischer, 1967.
