| Dec-01-06 | | Cyphelium: Truth to be told, it actually was pot and not crack. As you undoubtedly know, Petrosian was something of a beatnik really. Used to hang out with artists and poets in smoky bars, wore a beret etc. Famous for his many draws, most of them he played in a semi-conscious state while mumbling introvertly. The game usually ended when his opponent couldn't bear listening to another Allen Ginsberg poem being muttered and in desperation offered a draw. In response, Tigran used to regard his opponent under half-closed eye-lids, slowly sluring something about peace among all living things. By general consensus, this was taken as an acceptance of the draw offer.
In this game though, Geller was probably to drunk to notice Petrosians behaviour. |
