Honza Cervenka: The finish of this game was a nightmare for Geller. He had clearly won game (for example 44.Rxc8 Qxc8 45.e4 Ne7 46.Qf3+ Kg8 47.Qg3 Qf8 48.Qxd6 ) but allowed the opponent to slip out and finally lost the game in a simple drawish position by two grievous mistakes. Instaed of 55.Rd5?? he should have played simply 55.Bxd6, but he evidently overlooked or underestimated 55...Rf8+. Instead of 56.Rf5?? he could have played 56.Kg3, but after 56...Ne4+ 57.Kg2 Rf2+ 58.Kg1 Rf3 black wins a pawn.
