Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-21-11  DrMAL: After 4...b6 this Classical Nimzo went down an unusual line. White played the strongest moves, according to Houdini under long computation. But, instead of 7...Bxc3+ for an equal double-edged game, black made a mistake with 7...dxc3?! It seems he did not prepare this opening at all.

9.Qe4! would also have been good punishment, after this black is forced to move 9...d5 and there follows 10.exd6 11.c5 Qc6 12.Qxc6 cxb6 for a really weird pawn structure but a solid advantage (e.g., 13...Nxb4 14.Rxa7 Rb8 15.bxc3 Nc6 16.Rc7 Nge7 17.Be3 and white's passed pawns should connect up to win).

Ready to castle with a pair of bishops and a big Q-side space advantage, white played 12.h4 an interesting, space-grabbing move. A very complicated tactical battle on both sides ensued.

After 20...Bb7?! a tactical blunder (20...b5 was best for maybe a draw), white's Q-side pawn majority was already enough to win. 38...hxg5?! obtained a K-side passed pawn facilitating white's win but then 40.Re7? stepped into a forced mate.
